  2. README FIRST!

  4. This Instant Virus Update disk contains enhancements to 
  5. Command Software's mailCOMMAND. Please read the following
  6. information carefully.
  7.  
  8. On this disk you will find an updated scan engine
  9. for Command Software's mailCOMMAND. The version number of 
  10. this updated engine is 4.54.
  11.  
  12.  
  13. >>>>  USING THIS INSTANT VIRUS UPDATE DISK  <<<<
  14.  
  15. To install this Instant Virus Update disk, please perform the 
  16. following steps after first installing mailCOMMAND from
  17. its CD-ROM:
  18.  
  19. 1.    Exit mailCOMMAND.
  20. 2.    Click MY COMPUTER.
  21. 3.    Click CONTROL PANEL.
  22. 4.    Click SERVICES.
  23. 5.    From within SERVICES, stop the following services 
  24.     consecutively (in this order only):
  25.  
  26.         1) SMTPDS
  27.          2) SMTPRS
  28.         3) MAILCOMMAND SERVICES
  29.  
  30. 6.     When you have stopped all three services, use Explorer 
  31.     (if using Windows NT 4.0) or File Manager (if using 
  32.     Windows NT 3.51) to locate the MAILCMD folder. Click the
  33.         MAILCMD folder.
  34. 7.    Click on the PROGRAMS folder (located within the MAILCMD
  35.     folder).
  36. 8.     If using PKZip, WinZip or if using the file's self-extracting
  37.     ability, copy all of the self-extracted files into the 
  38.     PROGRAMS folder. However, be sure to copy the file named 
  39.     MCVIRUSS.DLL to the PROGRAMS folder as MCVIRUSSCANNER.DLL.
  40.          Note: Regardless of the self-extracting files used, you
  41.              must rename MCVIRUSS.DLL to MCVIRUSSCANNER.DLL.
  42. 9.     Return to SERVICES in CONTROL PANEL.
  43. 10.     From within SERVICES, start the following services 
  44.     consecutively (in this order only):
  45.  
  46.         1) SMTPDS
  47.         2) SMTPRS
  48.         3) MAILCOMMAND SERVICES
  49.  
  50. 11.    Exit SERVICES and proceed with your computing as normal.
